$650,000 ENDOWED AT GREAT FALLS COLLEGE MSU
PROVIDING INCREASED ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION FOR MONTANAN’S
Great Falls, MT-Ms. Nancy Cameron, a Montana State University Alumna, continues to invest in access to higher education for Montanans with a $650,000 gift to Great Falls College MSU. Cameron is a graduate from the College of Business at Montana State University.
“This gift by Ms. Cameron leaves a lasting legacy of her desire to give back to the region and state in which she was raised. Her recognition of the value of education is seen in her many contributions to a broad array of institutions in Montana. We are incredibly grateful for Ms. Cameron’s generosity. Through her gift the college will more than double its endowed scholarship capacity” says CEO/Dean Dr. Susan J. Wolff. “More lives will be changed and dreams achieved for those who previously thought it not possible to attend college” said Wolff.
The Nancy Cameron Gift will provide 18 endowed scholarships at Great Falls College MSU.
$125,000 of the gift will establish and maintain the “Nancy Cameron Award for Excellence”. This endowed scholarship will annually support a traditional incoming freshman with a 4.0 GPA, who is a Montana resident, and enrolled full time at Great Falls College MSU.
$125,000 of the gift will establish and maintain the “Cameron Business Scholarships”. These endowed scholarships will annually support four Montana residents, enrolled at Great Falls College MSU, pursuing a degree in a Business Program. The recipients must have a grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0. Preference will be given to a full time student.
“As a College of Business graduate from Montana State University, the preparation for achieving a successful career in business has always been near to my heart. Helping students prepare for a life in business will help our next generation of Montanans be equipped in their career path, current or future.” says Nancy Cameron.
$125,000 of the gift will establish and maintain the “Cameron Engineering Scholarships”. These endowed scholarships will annually support four Montana residents, enrolled at Great Falls College MSU, enrolling in the 1+3 Engineering Transfer option between Great Falls College MSU and Montana State University in Bozeman. The recipients must have a grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0. Preference will be given to a full time student.
$75,000 of the gift will establish and maintain the “Cameron Health Science Scholarships”. These endowed scholarships will annually support three Montana residents, enrolled at Great Falls College MSU, pursuing a degree in a Health Sciences program. The recipients must have a grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0. Preference will be given to a full time student.
$75,000 of the gift will establish and maintain the “Cameron General Scholarships”. These endowed scholarships will annually support three Montana residents, enrolled at Great Falls College MSU. These scholarship may be awarded regardless of field of study. The recipients must have a grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0. Preference will be given to a full time student.
$50,000 of the gift will establish and maintain the “Those Who Serve-Cameron Scholarships”. These endowed scholarships will annually support two Montana residents, enrolled at Great Falls College MSU, who are either active duty, honorably discharged, or a retired member of the United States Armed Forces. These scholarships may be awarded regardless of field of study. The recipients must have a grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0. Preference will be given to a full time student.
$25,000 of the gift will establish and maintain the “Pay it Forward Scholarship”. This endowed scholarship will annually support two Montana residents enrolled at Great Falls College MSU at least part time.
Additionally Nancy has a love for music and is gifting $50,000 to be used to assist the Great Falls College Community Choir with expenses related to their upcoming trip to Carnegie Hall in May of 2016. The $50,000 covers approximately half of the expenses the Choir anticipates, and requires that fundraising take place by the Great Falls College Community Choir to secure the second half of their expenses.
“With my family’s ranch being an active and integral part of the Great Falls area for over 125 years, it is my pleasure to give back to Montana and the greater Great Falls communities. I am proud to contribute to the area my family came from” says Nancy Cameron. “I am so happy to support education and training, which gives such excellent opportunities to Montanans” -says Cameron.
