ROBOTS ARE COMING TO GREAT FALLS COLLEGE MSU
Great Falls, MT—Tuesday, May 19, from 11:30am to 1:00pm the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) will bring Robots to Great Falls College MSU.
The World Champion High School “Rednek Robotics” team and Malmstrom Air Force Base’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal Flight will be demonstrating their robots in Heritage Hall at the Great Falls College MSU campus, 2100 16th Avenue South, Great Falls.
The robotics team is composed of high school students from Simms, Fairfield, Choteau and Great Falls. The team won the title of WORLD CHAMPION in April at the World’s FIRST Technical Challenge (FTC) in St. Louis, Missouri. FIRST is an acronym For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.
The FTC was created to introduce 7th through 12th graders to science and technology by building robots that compete from around the world. The competition began with 4,450 teams. The Rednek Robotics team was one of three teams to be awarded titles at the competition in St. Louis.
Team participation is an extracurricular activity not affiliated with a school. The team is coached by Chuck Merja of Sun River and supported by local businesses and families.
The Big Sky Post of SAME invites all members and those interested to attend the event. There is no cost of admission for this event.
