Great Falls College MSU Hosts Career Panel For Women’s History Month

GREAT FALLS COLLEGE MSU HOSTS CAREER PANEL FOR WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH

Great Falls, MT—Great Falls College MSU is celebrating Women’s History Month by hosting a career forum panel discussion on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Great Falls College MSU is located at 2100 16th Avenue South in Great Falls.

Headlining the panel discussion will be Debra Evans with Embark Credit Union; Lisa Schmidt, a local rancher who also writes for the Great Falls Tribune; and Shannon Newth who co-anchors the evening show on KRTV.

Ms. Debra Evans is the President and CEO of Embark Credit Union. She has a degree in finance from the University of Nebraska, and also graduated from the executive development program at Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Ms. Evans has been working in the banking and credit union industry for 35 years. Ms. Lisa Schmidt raises grass-fed beef and lamb with her husband on the Graham Ranch near Conrad. Ms. Schmidt also writes the “Prairie Ponderings” column for the Great Falls Tribune. Ms. Shannon Newth has held many roles in her 11 years with the Montana News Network. Before graduating with her degree in journalism and mass communication with minors in leadership studies and psychology from Whitworth University, Ms. Newth started as an intern with KRTV. Later she became a weekend weather anchor, then, after graduating from college, she became a morning anchor, before landing as a co-anchor on the evening news with KRTV.

Topics for the panel will include how their career paths started, unique challenges they have faced as women, and rewarding aspects of their work. After the panel discussion, there will be an opportunity for those in the audience to engage with and ask questions of the panel members.
