Great Falls College MSU graduating 361 students

Great Falls — On Saturday, May 7 at 4 p.m., Great Falls College Montana State University expects to graduate 361 students with an Associate Degree or Certificate.

Graduation will be held in the McLaughlin Center at the University of Great Falls, located just north of Great Falls College MSU. Graduation is open to the public, and seating will begin at 3 p.m. The McLaughlin Center is located at 1301 20th Street South in Great Falls.

Dr. Susan J. Wolff, CEO/Dean of Great Falls College MSU, will confer degrees and certificates Saturday to 361 students. Of those students, 92 will receive multiple degrees. Fifty-six students are graduating with honors (GPA of 3.5-3.79), and 62 students are graduating with high honors (GPA of 3.8 or better).

The average age of the Class of 2016 graduates is 29. Those graduates come from a student body where 37 percent are first-generation students. Nearly 36 percent of students have children living at home who depend on them for care, and more than 70 percent of students worked at least part time, with 46 percent working 30 or more hours a week while attending college.

“At each commencement, I stand in awe of the accomplishments of our students. It is a privilege for us to walk with our students. They leave with an education and skills, we are left with enriched lives,” said Wolff.
