GFC MSU hosts women’s leadership workshop

GREAT FALLS – The Great Falls College MSU chapter of American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) will host a women’s leadership workshop on Dec. 1.

The all-day workshop, titled “Intuition is a Leadership Skill,” will be taught by Rebecca Johns, CPCC, CTPC, a certified professional coach trained by The Coaches Training Institute. Johns will lead participants through an exploration of tools and exercises to inform how we lead our lives and how we lead others.

The workshop is sponsored by Embark Credit Union and Anderson Steel.

“We’re very grateful to Anderson Steel and Embark Credit Union for their sponsorship,” said Heather Palermo, director of the Lifelong Learning at GFC MSU. “Because of their generosity we’re able to offer this workshop at a very affordable price.”

The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 1 in Heritage Hall at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S. The cost for the workshop is $49 and includes lunch and snacks.

“Women’s leadership conferences and workshops are held throughout the country, but we noticed it was something that wasn’t being offered in Great Falls,” Palermo said. “That’s why AAWCC wanted to host this workshop – to give local women a chance to attend this kind of training without traveling.”

Johns’ background includes 35 years of teaching in higher education, public education, consulting, facilitation, and coaching. She uses leading edge resources and techniques helping leaders create the kind of positive change they want to make in their organizations, communities and the world.

The workshop is limited to 25 participants in order to personalize learning and coaching.
