GREAT FALLS – Great Falls College MSU, in conjunction with Montana State University, will be holding two sessions on Oct. 9 to give local high school students, their parents and community members more information about the 1+3 Engineering transfer program.
1+3 Engineering allows students to complete the first year of their engineering degree at Great Falls College MSU and then transfer to Montana State University in Bozeman for the last three years – an arrangement that can save students up to $10,000.
High school students are invited to Great Falls College MSU room B101 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 9 to learn about engineering options. In the evening, parents and community members are invited to attend an information session from 5:30-7 in room B137 at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S.
The daytime session for students will feature interactive, hands-on activities that will give students an understanding of the various disciples within engineering. Students will get to try different engineering activities to help decide which type of engineering they want to go into.
“Engineering can be an exceptionally rewarding career field,” said Leanne Frost, director of General Studies at GFC MSU. “Options like this help students save significantly on tuition, housing and fees. It also allows students to begin in smaller class sizes with more one-on-one instructor time.”
High school students can register for the event by contacting their school counselor. No RSVP is needed for the evening session. Homeschool students are welcome to attend either session.
