GREAT FALLS—On Thursday, October 18, Great Falls College MSU and the City County Health Department will partner to offer a flu shot clinic from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The clinic will be held in the college’s simulated hospital, located in the lower level below the atrium.
Flu shots will be offered to students, faculty and staff, and also to community members. Both the regular and high dose vaccine will be offered.
“The flu shot clinic is a great opportunity for our students and the college to partner with the City County Health Department and offer flu shots to the community,” said Lauren Swant, nursing instructor at Great Falls College MSU.
Representatives from the City County Health Department will be on campus to assist patients with billing their insurance. Those not using insurance can still participate and receive their flu shot.
In addition to providing an opportunity for community members to receive their flu shot, the clinic also gives first year RN students a hands on opportunity to work with patients and help deliver the shots.
“This gives students a great chance to take the knowledge they are learning in class and apply it to real life experiences working with patients,” said Swant.
