New Year, New You with GFC MSU’s Center for Lifelong Learning

GREAT FALLS —The 2019 spring catalog for the Center for Lifelong Learning is out and classes are open for registration. These non-credit classes allow community members to explore new interests or refine their current expertise. This spring, the center is offering new classes, as well as old favorites.

“I am so excited to be partnering with lifelong learning and can’t wait to share my passion for storytelling,” said Erin Merchant, instructor of Video Storytelling with your Phone, “My class will help people learn the very basics of video storytelling that can be achieved using basic equipment, like a phone or tablet!”

New courses being offered through Lifelong Learning this spring are: Video Story Telling with your Phone, Advanced Creative Welding, Blacksmithing Basics, Genealogy, Google Photos Intro, Smartphone Basics for Android Users, Intro to MT Master Gardeners, Descartes: Is this the real life; is this just fantasy?, Aristotle: The Golden Mean, Adobe Acrobat I & II, Change in the Workplace, Intuition – Develop & Strengthen, Intro to Hiking, From Grains to Glass, Adulting: Odds & Ends, Computer Basics for Beginners, Keeping Your Information Secure Online, Keto Diet for Weight Loss and Self Defense.

“With the new year, now is a great time to learn a new hobby or expand the skills you already have,” said Heather Palermo, Director of the Center for Lifelong Learning. “We are excited about our new classes this spring, but don’t miss out on the favorite classes. They fill up fast.”

Lifelong Learning will continue to offer many favorites, including Basic Welding, Yoga, Wine 101, Dutch Oven Cooking, Mixology, Oilology, QuickBooks, Retirement Planning, Woodcarving, Fly Tying, and the Great Falls Community Choir. Classes are offered with various dates from January to early May. These classes are designed to fit anyone’s schedule. Classes range from a couple hours to several weeks in length.

In addition to community classes, the Center for Lifelong Learning continues to provide customized training to meet the needs of local businesses.
