GFC MSU receives Military Friendly® School designation

GREAT FALLS — Great Falls College MSU earned the 2019-2020 Military Friendly® School designation by VIQTORY. According to VIQTORY, the Military Friendly® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions.

Great Falls College MSU is proud of its ties to the Military community in Great Falls, the region and the state. GFC MSU is dedicated to providing current veteran and military affiliated students with scholarship and benefit information, and the resources needed to be successful in achieving their educational goals through the Veterans Success Center.

“This designation showcases our commitment to providing veterans, active duty members and their families with the tools and resources they need to be successful,” said Dr. Susan J. Wolff, CEO and Dean of Great Falls College MSU. “We’re proud to be a Military Friendly® School and will continue to support our veterans and their families.”

The Veterans Success Center has three study rooms for students to use to complete course work or meet with a study group. There are also anatomical models available to help students who are enrolled in health science programs. These models give students a hands-on learning approach to understanding the human body.

“A lot of our students are non-traditional and have schedules that are packed full. Being able to sign out one of the study rooms or an anatomical model is important in making education more accessible,” said Kevin Lyons, Veterans Success Coach at Great Falls College MSU.

In addition to these resources, the Veterans Success Center also provides guidance on using education benefits, local services, tuition assistance, disability services and VA work-study opportunities.
