GREAT FALLS — Great Falls College MSU is hosting “The Women’s Closet” offering free women’s professional clothing to students at Great Falls College MSU from Tuesday, April 16 through Friday, April 19.
The idea for the clothing drive came about at an American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) meeting last year at Great Falls College MSU as a way for the group to serve the campus community. The drive aims to make professional wear available to students to set them up for success during the job search process.
“Many of our students struggle financially and buying professional clothing as they get ready to move into the business world would add to that stress,” said Dr. Elfie Neber, Chairperson, AAWCC Clothing Drive and Behavioral Sciences Faculty. “We thought a clothing drive focusing on professional clothing could serve that need.”
Students, faculty and staff were encouraged to donate new or used professional women’s clothing and shoes for “The Women’s Closet” which will offer these items to students in need for free.
In addition to the clothing drive, the AAWCC will be holding a series of professional skills workshops on Friday, April 19 from 9:00 am to noon.
These workshops will provide students with the tools they need to find their ideal job after graduation.
These free workshops are open to all GFC MSU students.
