Lifelong Learning announces summer camps and courses lineup

GREAT FALLS – Great Falls College MSU Lifelong Learning is now taking registrations for summer camps and courses focused on providing summer fun, exploration and learning new skills.

Erica Davis will be working with kids to teach basic French vocabulary and how to respond in day-to-day interactions, while also learning about the culture of France during the Fun with French Language and Culture Camp.

“I am hoping to play, sing, do skits and have as much fun as possible with campers,” said Davis. “Hopefully, we might light the fire for kids to study language in the future.”

Davis is a Great Falls native and graduate of CMR High School. She attended Concordia College in Moorehead, Minnesota where she earned her degree in French Education, K-12. She lives in town with her husband, Jon, who teaches science at CMR, and her boys, Turner and Carter.

In addition to the Fun with French Language and Culture camp, Lifelong Learning will be offering many new camps which includes Battle Royale®: Make your First Fortnite® Style Video, Virtual Reality: The Future is Now, Self Defense for Kids, Learn Coding Through Knitting, Fun with Forensics and Code Your Own Adventure! Interactive Storytelling.

“We’re excited to be bringing in some new camps this summer to help educate kids in ways that relate to them,” said Heather Palermo, Director of Lifelong Learning. “And while we are offering new camps and courses, we still have all the favorites everyone looks forward to during the summer.”

Some favorites for kids include Beginning Sewing, Basics of Childcare plus CPR, CyberPatriot Camp, Bakery Boss Jr. and Creative Writing.

Lifelong Learning will be also be offering adult courses throughout the summer. Some of those courses include Over the Fire: Cast Iron Cooking, Woodcarving, Tai Chi, Beginning Fly Fishing, Yoga and more.
