Students can now enroll in the second 8-week block at GFC MSU

GREAT FALLS— New this year, Great Falls College MSU is allowing students to enroll for classes per eight-week block; meaning that students who may have missed the early Admissions deadline for the fall semester, have the option to enroll in the second eight-week block thanks to the 8-Week Advantage.

“Student success is a key focus for the college,” says Dr. Susan Wolff, Dean/CEO at Great Falls College MSU. “Faculty and staff work hard to help students identify their purpose for seeking postsecondary education, develop a plan to achieve their personal education goal, and determine the best path to completion. The 8-week Advantage helps students who may have seasonal employment or other life circumstances that prevent them from enrolling in a traditional 16-week semester by allowing them to enroll per 8-week block.”

Designed using high quality, high impact practices, the 8-Week Advantage has a focus on increasing retention, on-time graduation and overall student success.

The Advantage gives students the flexibility to focus on classes during the 8-week section that works best for them, whether they are an adult student with a job and family or a Dual Enrollment student who is involved in sports or extra-curricular activities. Students who achieve success when completing classes may choose to take more classes each block, leading to faster completion, saving time and money. Through more condensed scheduling, students will build stronger connections with their faculty and classmates, engage in more hands-on experiences in class and in the community, as well as have access to more research opportunities.
