Basic Floor Installing

Great Falls College offers a 10-week, 300-contact hour Basic Floor Covering Installation program. The program consists of 75 hours each for carpet, hardwood, resilient and tile installation training. The Basic Floor Covering Installation program was developed to bring awareness to our industry and provide hands-on training and basic skill development opportunities to students interested in pursuing this career pathway. 

This program is a collaboration between Great Falls College, the Floor Covering Education Foundation, AccelerateMT and the Montana Department of Labor and industry.

  • Classes run a couple of times a year as needed
  • The program includes all the instructional materials and tools
  • Cost is $2,500, and scholarships may be available

Industry-Recognized Credentials: Graduates can earn credentials such as the “Flooring Technician I” from the Certified Flooring Installer (CFI) program and the Basic Floor Covering Installer (BFCI) from the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA).
