Medication Aide

The Medication Aide Training program is a short-term, non-credit workforce training offered through the Career & Technical Education Division. Our program covers both Med Aide I & II. We are an approved training provider for the State of Montana. Our program trains and prepares individuals to pass the Montana state exam and earn their Medication Aide endorsement.

A Medication Aide is a Certified Nursing Assistant who is responsible for administering medication to patients daily in different types of healthcare facilities. As a responsible healthcare professional, medication aides should possess knowledge of patient care procedures so that they can coordinate with different nurses to deliver them. They follow written or verbal instructions from physicians on how to manage their patients’ medications. Medication aide duties also include observing and monitoring their patients along with reporting and documenting changes in their conditions.
