Structural Welding
The structural welding course is a seven-week industry designed training course to help meet local workforce demands. In addition to the hands-on training, individuals who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion, opportunity to interview with industry partners and be eligible to test for the following welding qualifcations: 2F & 2G.
This course has been developed and supported by collaborative community partnerships between: Great Falls College, ADF, Allied Steel, Department of Labor & Industry and Vocational Rehab.
Program Details
- Classes run throughout the year as needed
- The program includes all the instructional/welding materials.
- Cost is $3,000
- Students must provide their own personal protective supplies such as boots, pants/jeans, and long sleeve shirt (no polyester).

Course Structure: This program is designed to meet local workforce demands and includes hands-on training in structural welding with Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). It covers essential welding techniques and prepares students for industry-recognized qualifications.
Certification and Qualifications: Upon successful completion, students can receive a certificate of completion and FCAW qualifications in 2F, 2G plate 3/8” limited, and 2G plate 1” unlimited upon successful completion of technical welding test. These certificates and qualifications are crucial for demonstrating proficiency in structural welding.
Materials and Equipment: The program provides all instructional and welding materials. However, students must supply their own closed toe boots, pants/jeans, and a long sleeve cotton/wool shirt.
Industry Partnerships: The course is developed and supported by collaborative community partnerships, including Great Falls College MSU, ADF, Allied Steel, the Department of Labor & Industry, and Vocational Rehab. These partnerships enhance the program’s relevance and provide students with valuable networking opportunities.
