Welcome to the Academic Success Center!
The Academic Success Center at Great Falls College offers free tutoring services to support students in their academic journey. Whether you need help with math, writing, science, computers or accounting, our knowledgeable tutors are here to assist you. With a friendly and supportive environment, the center provides personalized attention to help you succeed in your courses and build your confidence.
Looking for help with your writing assignments? Please contact the writing tutors at least one hour before closing time or submit your online writing assignments well in advance of the submission deadline.
The center has tutors for Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computers, Accounting and Writing.

The Academic Success Center will be closed the following dates during the Spring semester:

What should I do before attending a tutoring session?
- Read and review course materials in advance.
- Think of what you need help with during your session.
- Write down any questions you may have.
- Bring relevant course materials such as: notes, handouts, PowerPoints, syllabus, assignment deadlines.
What do tutors do?
Tutors can:
- Help clarify and reinforce course information and concepts.
- Help review the material covered in your course.
- Review similar problems or work on grammar errors like your own.
- Provide different learning approaches and study strategies.
- Offer constructive feedback on your work.
- Offer advice on how to read more effectively and efficiently.
- Help you develop independent study skills.
- Explain complex concepts by breaking down difficult topics into manageable chunks of information.
- Identify learning gaps.
- Ask probing questions to encourage critical thinking, help explain difficult concepts, demonstrate processes to complete an assignment, prepare for an exam by quizzing students, and model good study habits.
- Provide practice problems.
- Boost confidence in a supportive environment.
Tutors cannot:
- Take on the role of an instructor and reteach the material.
- Help with take-home exams and questions from homework assignments.
- Correct your papers or assignments.
- Guarantee your grades.
- Provide access to answers.
- Replace going to class.
- Give you ideas for a paper, write it for you, or interpret a reading for you.
- Give personal advice.
