The Great Falls College Community Choir is presenting the music of James Taylor, The Beach Boys and “Hotel California” by the Eagles at its spring concert on Thursday, May 5, at Heritage Hall on Great Falls College MSU’s campus.
The concert begins at 7 p.m.
“We are excited to be back in Heritage Hall for the first time since pre-pandemic,” said Cynthia Stevens, Great Falls College choir director.
The community choir held a holiday concert in the fall with C.M. Russell High in the college’s atrium, but this spring concert will mark the return of the Great Falls College Community Choir to Heritage Hall.
Stevens said this concert is aimed at having fun and celebrating together as life is returning to normal.
“Most of us are of the demographic that grew up with James Taylor, The Beach Boys and Eagles,” she said. “This year has been about maintaining and having fun. Next year, I hope to get back to some more serious literature and rebuilding.”
The Taylor songs slated for the May concert are: “Your Smiling Face,” “Fire and Rain,” “How Sweet It Is,” “Sweet Baby James” and “That Lonesome Road.”
The choir will then present a medley of Beach Boy songs comprised of “I Get Around,” “In My Room,” “California Girls,” and “Fun, Fun, Fun.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
The Great Falls College Community Choir is offered through the Lifelong Learning Center at the college. Cost is $25 for a semester.
