FUNDS FROM ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY CREATE OPPORTUNITY AT GREAT FALLS COLLEGE MSU STUDENTS
Great Falls, MT—Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00pm, Great Falls College MSU will host an open house and dedication ceremony for the newly renovated Trades Facilities. Great Falls College MSU is located at 2100 16th Avenue South.
Through a nearly $1.5 million grant from the Economic Development Authority (EDA), support from the Governor’s office, the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, Great Falls Public Schools and several private partners; Great Falls College MSU has been able to re-configure its Carpentry, Renewable Energy Technology and Welding Facilities to increase its capacity to meet the demands of local employers.
“These funds have allowed Great Falls College MSU to repurpose the current spaces, creating a better learning environment for our students where they can use cutting edge technology and are prepared to enter the workforce ready to contribute and earn a living” says Dr. Susan J. Wolff, CEO/ Dean at Great Falls College MSU.
The Trades Facilities open house will feature several notable speakers, including:

• Lt. Governor Angela McLean
• Mr. John Rogers—Chief Business Officer for the Governor
• Ms. Mari Sutton—Area Director, West Area Team out of the Denver Regional EDA Office
• Dr. John Cech—Deputy Commissioner, Office the Commissioner of Higher Education
Wednesday’s recognition event is free and open to the public. The event will highlight the collaboration of both public and private resources, and the efforts of numerous individuals, businesses and government entities that were instrumental in moving the trades programs at Great Falls College MSU forward.
The repurposing of space allows for a better designed and more usable space for carpentry, gives renewable energy technology its own space for teaching students, and more than doubles the capacity of the welding facilities.
