GFC MSU to host Health Sciences Exploration Day

GREAT FALLS – On Wednesday, Nov. 9, 150 local high school students will get the chance to explore healthcare education and career opportunities at Great Falls College MSU’s Health Sciences Exploration Day.

“We want to give students the opportunity to see the health science programs and occupations that are available in our community,” said Julie Tramelli, College Pathways Advisor for GFC MSU and the Great Falls Public Schools. “High school students have heard about careers as doctors and nurses, but they may not be aware of all the other providers who make the healthcare system work.”

Students will get to learn about careers as pharmacy technicians, respiratory therapists, health information coding specialists and the other healthcare degrees offered at GFC MSU.

The demand for qualified healthcare professionals is rapidly growing and the career opportunities available for students graduating from these programs is fantastic.

The Health Sciences Exploration event runs from 9 to 11 a.m. at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S.

The day starts with a scavenger hunt that will showcase the 15 different health science degrees offered at GFC MSU. Students will also get a chance to tour the campus and visit with faculty and current students.

Members of the media are welcome to attend the event on Nov. 9.
