Great Falls College Community Choir performs Broadway show tunes

GREAT FALLS – The Great Falls College Community Choir will present “100 Years of Broadway” on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.

The concert will be held in Heritage Hall at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S. It is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.

The performance will include pieces from Broadway’s early Tin Pan Alley days to contemporary musicals.

“People will be familiar with most of the music presented,” said Choir Director Cynthia Stevens.

The music will be performed by the entire 60-voice choir with individual choir members performing short solos sprinkled throughout the concert.

“This particular arrangement showcases the choir as a whole, as well as providing many opportunities for short solos,” Stevens said.

Two narrators will explain to the audience the history of Broadway, along with information on particular songs and the plays from which they originate.

“This is our first time presenting a Broadway show,” Stevens said. “We’re excited to share this music with the Great Falls community.”

The Great Falls College Community Choir will also join the Great Falls Symphony and Symphonic Choir on Dec. 2 to perform Vivaldi’s Gloria. Tickets for that performance are available at ticketing.greatfallsmt.net.
