Great Falls College MSU and University of Great Falls Shed Light on Mental Health Awareness

Great Falls—A collaboration between Great Falls College MSU, University of Great Falls and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) focuses on raising awareness and educating students and the community about mental disorders and providing information on resources available in the Great Falls area.

Mental Health Awareness Day will take place on Wednesday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both the GFC MSU and UGF campuses and will feature numerous activities and presentations. Great Falls College MSU is located at 2100 16th Avenue South, and the University of Great Falls is located at 1301 20th Street South.

“This is a great opportunity for students of both the college and the university to not only work together, but to engage with the community and to bring awareness to many of the mental health issues individuals face in our community,” says Elfie Neber, Psychology faculty at Great Falls College MSU.

The Mental Health Awareness Day is free of charge and open to students, faculty, staff and the community.

“We are excited about this year’s collaborative Mental Health Awareness event. It is important that we bring attention to these critical yet common issues affecting society, such as addictions, child behavior, autism and post-traumatic stress disorder,” says Dr. Sylvia Lindinger-Sternart, LCPC, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Counseling at the University of Great Falls.

A full schedule of activities, times and locations is listed below.
