GREAT FALLS COLLEGE MSU DENTAL HYGIENE STUDENTS SHOWCASE COMMUNITY NONPROFITS
Great Falls, MT—On Thursday, March 31, senior students in the dental hygiene program will highlight several nonprofit agencies and the volunteer opportunities they offer. The students have created info-graphics and will share information on their chosen agencies with classmates, faculty, staff and the community on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Presentations will be held in South Court at Great Falls College MSU, which is located at 2100 16th Avenue South, in Great Falls.
The nonprofit presentations are part of the dental hygiene program, where students are tasked with learning more about the community in which they live and will work. “These Students went out into the community and picked nonprofit agencies which were near and dear to their hearts, and now they get to share with their fellow students what each of these agencies do,” said Kim Dunlap, RDH, dental hygiene instructor.
The agencies being represented by students are the Cascade County Center for Mental Health, Great Falls Food Bank, Head Start, Maclean Animal Adoption Center, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross, Special Olympics Montana and Young Parents’ Education Center.
“Throughout the two-year dental hygiene program students participate in community outreach activities. However, it goes beyond requirements, but is a natural extension of the profession to want to help where needed and to make a difference,” said Dunlap.
The dental hygiene program at Great Falls College MSU is the only accredited dental hygiene program in the state of Montana.
The mission of Great Falls College MSU is to Educate and Inspire You.
