Great Falls College MSU hosts open house for military spouses

Great Falls – In conjunction with Malmstrom Key Spouses, Great Falls College MSU is hosting an informational session for military spouses on Wednesday, June 1 at 5:30 p.m. The session will be held on campus in room B101. The college is located at 2100 16th Avenue South, Great Falls. Refreshments will be served.

The informational sessions aims to highlight GFC MSU’s military friendly status. It will also show military spouses some of their options for using their education benefits to pay for school and introduce to them the wide range of programs offered at GFC MSU.

“This is a great opportunity for us to show off the support we offer veterans and their families and to let military spouses know about the educational opportunities available right here in Great Falls,” said Kevin Lyons, Veterans Success Coach at GFC MSU.

Dr. Susan Wolff, CEO/Dean of GFC MSU, will provide opening remarks and a welcome to the spouses. Julie Rummel, Financial Aid Specialist and VA Certifying Official, will cover scholarship and financial aid options. Greg Stivers, Student Advisor, will present the programs offered by GFC MSU and scholarships available for Bright Beginning Child Care. Kevin Lyons, Veterans Success Coach, will talk about student veteran resources on campus and give a brief tour of the Veterans Success Center. There will be a panel of four current students who are Malmstrom spouses to answer questions from the attendees. Finally, Dr. Frankie Lyons, Director of the Health Sciences Division, will give a tour of Great Falls College, emphasizing the Health Science facilities.

All military spouses are welcome. The event is free and open to the public.
