GREAT FALLS – Great Falls College MSU has been recognized as a Military Friendly School.
The designation comes from Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs, STEM Jobs, and Military Spouse, and recognize colleges and universities with leading programs for veterans and military spouses.
“Great Falls College MSU works hard to make sure all our veterans and military spouses are successful,” said Kevin Lyons, Veterans Success Coach. “We are happy to have this recognition from the Military Friendly schools website and will continue to make our campus a supportive environment for veterans, active duty members and their families.”
Military students, including spouses and dependents, make up 14 percent of the student body at Great Falls College MSU.
According to Victory Media, institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from Victory Media’s proprietary survey. More than 1,700 schools participated in the 2017 survey; 1,273 were awarded with the designation.
Schools compete for the title by completing an extensive survey that looks at indicators of success, including:
“Our ability to apply a clear, consistent standard to the majority of colleges gives veterans a comprehensive view of which schools are striving to provide the best opportunities and conditions for our nation’s student veterans,” said Daniel Nichols, a Navy Reserve veteran and Chief Product Officer at Victory Media. “Military Friendly helps military families make the best use of the Post-9/11 GI Bill and other federal benefits.”
