GREAT FALLS COLLEGE MSU NEEDS CORPORATE PARTNERS

Great Falls, MT— Great Falls College MSU is seeking approval from the Montana University System Board of Regents for a new two-year Programming A.A.S. degree as part of its Computer Information Technology programs.

As the college prepares for this new degree, it is concurrently working to submit a grant application through President Obama’s “TechHire Initiative,” an effort to create better, high-paying tech jobs and meet urgent employer demand across the U.S.

As part of this initiative, Great Falls College MSU needs the community’s help. The college needs multiple corporate commitments to provide program goals and activities, identify necessary skills and competencies, identify career pathways, provide resources to support this education and training, and hire qualified participants who successfully complete the programming education and training certificate.

GFC MSU will host an Open Forum Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall on the Great Falls College MSU campus to discuss programming and the opportunities that go with it for both prospective students and employers. All interested businesses are invited to attend. Great Falls College MSU is located at 2100 16th Avenue South, in Great Falls.

“Programming will offer our community two major benefits,” says Dr. Susan J. Wolff, CEO/ Dean at Great Falls College MSU. “The first is to our students; they will have the opportunity to pursue a programming degree which will give them immediate employment opportunities. The second is to our community business partners. Graduates from this programming degree will be prepared to immediately go to work and make an impact with companies with programming needs,” says Wolff.

At the launch of his “TechHire Initiative,” President Obama stated: “It doesn’t matter where you learned code, it just matters how good you are in writing code. If you can do the job, you should get the job.”

In an effort to advance the TechHire Initiative, many community colleges, including Great Falls College MSU, are creating programming degree programs to rapidly train workers in just a matter of months for well-paying job opportunities.

The mission of Great Falls College MSU is to educate and inspire you.
