GREAT FALLS – This spring semester, Great Falls College MSU chemistry instructor Dr. Dan Casmier will again offer a fun science experience for the community with his Science at the College demos.
These science experiments are presented in a way that actively engages the audience. The demonstrations are casual and informal, and often hands-on.
“My goal with Science at the College is to make science fun and approachable,” Casmier said.
The Science at the College schedule has been set for spring semester 2017. Each experiment takes place on the Great Falls College MSU campus, 2100 16th Ave. S., on the dates listed below, all Fridays:
Based on the experiment, the time and location change. Details will be posted on the College’s website (gfcmsu.edu) and Facebook page (facebook.com/gfcmsu) in the week before the demo.
This spring’s Science at the College demonstrations will include laser beam battles, oscillating “clock” reactions, a beating metal heart, the lightest material in the world, and unleashing the power of the sun.
This Friday, Jan. 27, Dr. Casmier will demonstrate the “shocking” properties of static electricity. The demo will begin at 1 p.m. in room B101 at Great Falls College MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S.
Science at the College is free and open to the public and is appropriate for all ages.
