What to Support
For more than half a century, Great Falls College has been delivering on the promise of helping inspired students go to college and starting meaningful careers. Each day, we work to advance our mission to provide high-quality educational experiences, support student success and meet the needs of our community. Building on our history of educational excellence, economic impact and community engagement, this treasured institution seeks to Forge Futures for more students than ever before.
As leaders who understand and embrace the importance of having a bold vision, we’ve asked ourselves four essential questions:
- What will it take to ensure access and affordability for those seeking to begin their academic journey at Great Falls College?
- How can we best support our students while they are with us, ensuring they graduate with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in today’s changing economies?
- How can we recruit and support our outstanding instructional faculty members as they, in turn, seek to teach and inspire the students?
- How can we grow our degree and certification programs, facilities and innovative trainings to meet new and emerging needs across our community, region and state?
These questions provided guidance to develop our four main areas to support at Great Falls College: student scholarships, student support and success, faculty innovation, and our greatest need. Take a look! And please, consider helping us deliver on our promise to our students.
Student Scholarships
There are three ways to give toward student scholarships.
1. NON-ENDOWED
Establishing a non-endowed named fund has a minimum commitment of $5,000. Scholarship awards will be distributed until all the funds are exhausted. Many donors give annually toward a non-endowed scholarship or establish a Memorial Scholarship that others can give to.
2. ENDOWED
Establishing an endowed named fund has a minimum commitment of $25,000 as either a one-time gift or pledged over 5 years. With this commitment, you can select criteria and preferences regarding the funds, or be a part of the established scholarship criteria and selection process Great Falls College has in place.
3. ESTABLISHED NAMED SCHOLARSHP OR PROGRAM
With no minimum amount, you may give toward student scholarships and select which fund to support or designate your donation toward the greatest student need.
Student Support & Success
Great Falls College provides a designated safe space for military veterans and their families to achieve their academic goals. As part of our student success initiatives, the staff in the center partners with ability services, financial aid and the CARE coordinator to ensure veterans and their families have access to the resources they need. Your donations to the Military Families Center can be made to fund the center’s coordinator, purchase learning models, support student printing costs and purchase food for students.
Native American Enrichment Center
The Native American Enrichment Center at Great Falls College provides a beautiful space for American Indian students and their families to gather and support each other. As part of our student success initiatives, the coordinator in the center partners with ability services, financial aid and the CARE coordinator to ensure resources are available. Your donations to the Native American Enrichment Center help fund the Eagle Feather Ceremony, various cultural activities, maintains the kitchen and funds the center’s coordinator.
Student Emergency Grants
From childcare expenses to unplanned vehicle repairs, students often experience financial challenges while in school. Great Falls College has dedicated resources to access so they can continue to thrive and complete their degrees. The emergency funding is available to all students who apply and show a financial need. Students can receive up to $1,000 per academic year. Your donation toward emergency funds can really make a difference in a student completing the semester and successfully move forward in their educational journey.
Faculty Innovation & Engagement
Faculty Innovation Fund
Each year, full-time and part-time faculty at Great Falls College may apply for a Faculty Innovation Grant. The funds to support these innovative practices come from our generous donors. Although the college strives to give at least $1,000 a year toward the award, a donor may give more or less than this amount. The selection process ties strongly to student learning that is supported by research and best practices in teaching and learning.
